From 17 to 20 August 2022, the Mfandena multi-sports gym in Yaoundé hosted the 2nd edition of the Atangana Wheelchair Basketball Camp.
The 2nd edition of the Atangana Wheelchair Basketball Camp took place from 17 to 20 August 2022 at the Mfandena multi-sports gym in Yaoundé.
More than 60 athletes and staff from 8 regions of Cameroon took part in training sessions and tournaments. Ten teams played the 3x3 tournament, five of them from regions other than the Centre.
Results
- 3x3 final: Young-Stars beat All-Stars 7–5.
- Regions match: the North beat the South.
- Generations match: the veterans won 21–18.
A shared moment
A minute of silence was held in tribute to Bolomigui Patrice Narcisse. Representatives of the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education, the Cameroon National Paralympic Committee and FECASDEP attended the event, which was covered by many media (CRTV, Canal 2, Le Jour, Afrik’Sports Mag, Basketzoom…).
Tyres, wheels, inner tubes and balls were handed to the teams: a concrete boost while waiting for proper sports wheelchairs for everyone.
